These types of fittings are commonly found in breweries, where tanks are often sourced internationally and built to differing standards.

They’re also historically associated with Santon fittings—though the reasoning behind that is something only they could fully explain.

…however, I’d disagree — the DY range are large, high-power flanged heaters, essentially equivalent to our FFY range.

There’s also a 4-bolt (MY) 24″ 12 kW version floating around in a couple of places, and frankly it’s unclear exactly what spec that is — but that’s another story.
